The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamuli fails to land the takedown.

With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Naya Shinoki !
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 72 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Kotaro Fuma!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fuma enables Shinoki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fuma manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Shinoki cracks Fuma with a solid left hand.
Shinoki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Naya Shinoki just wasn't active enough.

Fuma tries to keep at a distance but Shinoki has taken the fight into the clinch.

Shinoki turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Shinoki manages to end up in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Shinoki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fuma, who protects the arm well.
Shinoki is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Shinoki is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fuma is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fuma is trying to improve his position.

Fuma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shinoki . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shinoki 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Shinoki has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Fuma is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Shinoki yanks on the arm and Fuma is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Shinoki .
