The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fonfara shoots for a double leg takedown but Jaa sprawls well. He's pushed Fonfara's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fonfara takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Andrzej Fonfara has been cut.
Jaa throws a right hand that Fonfara ducks under and follows up with a left that Fonfara also avoids with ease.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jaa has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Jaa misses with a hook. Fonfara ducked under it nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Jaa as Fonfara shoots in.
Fonfara shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jaa as he avoids it easily.

Fonfara went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomonaka scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Tomonaka throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gilmore stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gilmore fails with the takedown
and Tomonaka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gilmore darts in trying to clinch
and Tomonaka counters with a stiff right hand.
Tomonaka tests Gilmore's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Gilmore tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tomonaka defends well and Gilmore ends up having to push Tomonaka into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Oh Gilmore is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tomonaka lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gilmore backwards.
