Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rez Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anakoni Kapena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cortez comes to the cage accompanied by Can We Still Be Friends. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kapena ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kapena throws a big shot that misses.
Cortez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

It looks like Anakoni Kapena has been cut.
Kapena swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kapena has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Kapena takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Cortez lands a nice shot that snaps Kapena's head back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kapena misses with a combination
and Cortez comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Kapena stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Cortez is on him like rabid pit bull! Kapena slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joaquim Maria.

Koff jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cook walks away with a smile on his face. Koff gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cook tries to bum rush Koff with a series of wild strikes but Koff uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cook jabs Koff to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Koff takes one on the button.

Cook scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Koff dives in and scores a takedown into Cook's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cook is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Koff has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Cook doesn't defend quickly enough and Koff has managed to lock this one up! Can Cook escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Koff on a fantastic submission victory.
