The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mabuva connects with a body shot.

Oooooh!!! Mabuva has knocked Irene down with a huge combo! Mabuva steps away and waves a wobbly Irene back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Goodnight Irene has been cut.
Irene does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mabuva blocks a head kick by Irene.
Mabuva dodges the punch combination from Irene.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Irene has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Irene takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That has opened up Goodnight Irene's cut even more.
Irene buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Mabuva feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Irene sprawling to the canvas! Irene rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mabuva finish him?!
Irene throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Irene moves away from the strike by Mabuva.
Irene takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Irene looks winded!
Mabuva circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Irene tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Mabuva wins by KO!

During a confident post fight interview, Cedric Mabuva thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
