Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Masa Wasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gorge Jurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurgel has chosen Rock N Roll Train as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Masa Wasa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 43 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gorge Jurgel!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wasa gets a takedown into half guard.

Wasa is working for a kimura but Jurgel is defending it quite comfortably.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wasa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jurgel doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wasa.

Wasa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jurgel defends it well.

Jurgel is pressing down on Wasa's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jurgel holds on and takes a little breather.
Jurgel's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Wasa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Wasa is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Jurgel still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Jurgel has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Jurgel works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Jurgel is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wasa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wasa's back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wasa trying to control but Jurgel is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Jurgel misses with an uppercut. Wasa saw that one coming.

Wasa drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wasa is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wasa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jurgel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wasa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
