The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yu throws a right and a left that Noriega avoids nicely.
Yu throws a body punch but Noriega moves out of range.
Noriega checks a leg kick.
Yu slips a jab and a cross from Noriega.
Noriega fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yu manages to avoid it.
Yu takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Lu Yu has been cut.
Noriega throws a big shot that misses.
Noriega scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nice uppercut lands for Noriega. That snapped Yu's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Noriega scores with a hook to the body. Yu takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A telegraphed right hand from Yu misses the target.

Yu does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Noriega looks to land a right hand but Yu moved out of range.
Noriega dives in and grabs Yu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Yu pushes down on Noriega's head and hops out.
Nice jab there from Noriega.
Yu takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Noriega keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Noriega ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Noriega scores with a hook to the body. Yu takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Noriega lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Noriega shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Noriega is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Yu!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Noriega throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Yu is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Noriega throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Yu because Noriega loaded up on that one.

Noriega is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Yu can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Yu is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Noriega scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Yu is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Noriega lands a big shot there that rocks Yu but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Noriega wants to control the pace but Yu is squirming around nicely.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lu Yu's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mac Avelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Vandrel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vandrel has chosen Tarantula - Pendulum as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Vandrel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Avelli moves away.
Avelli dodges the punch combination from Vandrel.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vandrel.
Vandrel throws a push kick but Avelli slaps the foot to one side.
Vandrel shoots in for a takedown but Avelli shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Vandrel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Vandrel is pressing down on Avelli's thigh, looking to free his foot. Avelli is holding on for now.
Avelli is controlling Vandrel's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Avelli is trying to maintain the position but Vandrel is very close to passing his half guard.

Vandrel is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Avelli is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
