The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mackenzie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mackenzie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gene knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Gene tries to roll over but Mackenzie keeps him under control.
Mackenzie tries to pass to full mount but Gene defends it.
Gene is looking to control Mackenzie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gene avoid being mounted?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gene tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Gene has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mackenzie is working away from the top position though.

Gene manages to get to full guard.
Mackenzie is looking to stand up but Gene won't let him.
Mackenzie tries to free his leg and advance position but Gene is retaining full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mackenzie slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Mackenzie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Gene's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mackenzie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gene works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gene is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Gene is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mackenzie throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gene's body to avoid the submission. Gene has instead reached around Mackenzie's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gene arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Pettis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is DJ Kahli Go Hard. Supq has chosen YG - My Nigga as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Supq's head backwards.
Pettis misses with a body shot.
Supq shoots in for a double leg but Pettis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pettis misses with a straight right.
Horrible takedown attempt by Supq or perhaps it was just good defense by Pettis, which made it look bad.
Supq takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Supq keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Pettis.

Supq closes the distance and clinches.
Supq prevents Pettis from breaking the clinch.
Supq works on Pettis's body with a couple of short punches.

Supq fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pettis sprawls well initially but Supq persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Supq seems to have recovered his senses.
Supq is keen to just control but Pettis is a slippery customer.

Pettis wants to sweep but no luck.

Pettis has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Supq doesn't defend quickly enough and Pettis has managed to lock this one up! Can Supq escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pettis on a fantastic submission victory.

Natanael throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Natanael throws a left that rocks Yvon and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Natanael dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Yvon regain composure!

It looks like Mathias Yvon has been cut.
Yvon is not content to let Natanael control the position.
Natanael working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yvon parries the strikes from Natanael easily there. Natanael is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Yvon to escape.
Natanael tries to score with some ground and pound. Yvon controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Yvon tries to buck Natanael off but Natanael is having none of it.
Natanael has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Natanael tries to advance to mount but Yvon denies him.
Natanael postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Gerrard shoots in and bounces Battista off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Battista is looking for a triangle but Gerrard pushes his legs off easily.

Dos Santos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Taylor circles away quickly and effectively.

We've been informed that Taylor has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
