Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ali's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diego has Ali pressed against the cage, preventing Ali from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Diego swings wildly with an uppercut but Ali uses good head movement to avoid it.
Diego lands a nice uppercut.
Ali wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ali has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Diego lands a body punch.
Diego stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Ali is breathing heavily.

Ali wants to get back to striking at distance but Diego won't allow it.
Diego keeps control of Ali as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Diego digs a right hand into Ali's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ali's gas tank.
Nice body punch from Diego - that landed with a thud.
Diego lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Ali.
Diego lands with a short shot to the head.

Ali is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Diego lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ali backwards.
Oh Ali is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Diego creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Ali with a big uppercut! Ali tries to clinch up but Diego pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Ali to the mat! Ali covers up and Diego unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Don Diego!
Don Diego is the new middleweight champion!
Don Diego decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
