Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sub Zero!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero misses the shot to the body.
Hrolf takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Zero fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hrolf looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Sub Zero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zero scores with a jab. Hrolf acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The fighters circling - Zero throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Zero doesn't manage to clinch there - Hrolf circles away.
Zero lands with a hook. Hrolf tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Hrolf is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zero's half guard.
Hrolf throws a strike but Zero avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
and Hrolf counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zero won't be happy with that.
Hrolf throws an elbow but Zero slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hrolf is trying to ground and pound but Zero uses the momentary lack of control by Hrolf to regain half guard.
Hrolf winds up and cracks Zero with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hrolf thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hrolf is keen to just control but Zero is a slippery customer.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hrolf slips a jab from Zero.
Hrolf tries to bum rush Zero with a series of wild strikes but Zero uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Zero doesn't manage to clinch there - Hrolf circles away.
Zero misses with a body shot.

Hrolf drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hrolf postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Tallak Hrolf overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hrolf accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hrolf has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hrolf shoots in and drives through. Zero sprawls well.
Hrolf ducks under a wild hook from Zero.
Zero tries to close the distance and clinch but Hrolf swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zero tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hrolf manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Zero tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Hrolf counters with a single leg into guard. Zero didn't expect that.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sub Zero's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
