Island lands a nice leg kick that just misses Grylls's sensitive parts.
Island keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Grylls takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Grylls shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Island as he jumps to the side.
Island leaves Grylls with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Island throws a good cross that connects.
Grylls looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Island ! Grylls is out on his feet! Island rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Grylls is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Grylls is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nich DiMa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Sheppards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nich DiMa had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Carl Sheppards will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Miller seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mike does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Miller has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Mike defend it? Miller steps over the head and cranks it - Mike is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Miller!
