The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Uk misses.

Uk gets caught flat footed, as De Farias shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
De Farias trying to control but Uk is working from the bottom.

Uk is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and De Farias defends well.

Uk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. De Farias gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Uk is trying to control the position from the bottom.
De Farias trying to control the position from guard on top but Uk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Uk throws a lazy right hand but De Farias sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
De Farias keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Uk misses with a wild body shot.
De Farias is looking for the big counter here.
De Farias fails in his attempt to clinch.
Uk takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
De Farias uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Uk.
Uk throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent De Farias stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

De Farias looks up at the clock and then as Uk takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, De Farias smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Uk tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but De Farias presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Uk takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Uk tries to lock up and control but De Farias gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Uk is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if De Farias gets his way!

Lynch cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smith looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Lynch finish him?
Lynch has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lynch sprawls well. Lynch wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

Zeus chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jabneel can pounce on him.
No luck for Jabneel with that takedown attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Takayanagi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Thompson is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Thompson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Takayanagi was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Takayanagi is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thompson sees it coming and defends easily.

Takayanagi is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Thompson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
