The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fuji sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fuji lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Downes takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fuji scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Downes is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Oooooh!!! Fuji has knocked Downes down with a huge combo! Fuji steps away and waves a wobbly Downes back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fuji cracks Downes on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Downes falls backwards against the cage. Fuji follows up with more strikes that drop Downes to his knees. Fuji keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Downes! This one is all over!

Chiyono Fuji got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
