Hartmann is pressed up against the ropes. Duarte has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hartmann down to the mat. Hartmann avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Erwin Hartmann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcos Duarte.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hartmann throws a nice looking combination but Duarte bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Duarte tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hartmann defends well and Duarte ends up having to push Hartmann into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hartmann connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Duarte throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hartmann tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Duarte is in Hartmann's guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter throws a head kick that half lands.
Carter delivers a nice body kick.
Palmer showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Carter.
Palmer chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Carter can pounce on him.
Carter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Palmer.
A punch combination from Palmer misses.
Carter feints a counter leg kick.
Palmer scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Rubin Carter has been cut.
Palmer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Carter counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carter shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Palmer eats them both and turns towards Carter to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Nice defenses there by Carter.
The fighters circling - Palmer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Carter steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Carter looks to land a combination but Palmer avoids it well.
Carter throws a nice inside leg kick.
Palmer works Carter's body with a nice hook.
Palmer swings widly with a right hand
and Carter counters with a three punch combo that has Palmer backing up. Palmer nods at Carter to acknowledge the strikes.
Carter lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Palmer checks the leg kick nicely there.
Palmer misses with a straight right.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Carter! But no joy.
Carter misses with a body shot.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carter, as that shot connected.
Palmer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Palmer cracks Carter with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carter connects with a single shot there.
Palmer on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Carter on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Palmer lands with a hook. Carter tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Palmer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Palmer counters with a big slam followed by a series of strikes - this one is all over!
