The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sanders looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sanders shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sanders dives in for a single leg takedown but Silva sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silva has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sanders is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Nice straight punches there by Silva. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Silva.

Silva darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Sanders takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Silva throws a head kick that half lands.
Nice body kick there by Silva.
Silva lands with a kick to the ribs.
Sanders is breathing heavily.
A jab lands there for Silva.
Silva connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sanders. Sanders circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Sanders takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Oh Sanders is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silva throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Sanders colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Silva as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Sanders is left battered and dazed whilst Silva and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eduardo Silva!
Eduardo Silva decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Akki lands a left and a right that send Ulrich crashing to the mat, dazed. Akki thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Good leg kick by Akki there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Javier Ulrich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akki lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Ulrich falls backwards - clearly groggy! Akki dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Terry Akki!
After winning the bout, Terry Akki thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
