The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hendrics has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hendrics really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sanchez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hendrics is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Hendrics is staying active underneath Sanchez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
