Kim goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Kim is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Light asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Light throws a strike aimed at the side of Kim's head but Kim avoids it well.

It looks like Jung Kim has been cut.
Kim is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Light is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kim is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Light throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Light wants to control but Kim is keeping him busy.

Light working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Light fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Light in side control, throwing shots but Kim defends.
Light misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Kim wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Light has his takedown stuffed
and Kim counters with a two punch combo.
Light fails with a takedown attempt.
Light has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nice takedown defense from Kim. No joy for Light on that attempt.
Bobby Light seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Light with that takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Light or perhaps it was just good defense by Kim which made him look bad.

Light fails with the takedown.
Light changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kim tries to avoid it but Light manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kim to the ground. Kim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No joy there for Kim, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Light tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Light.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jung Kim showed his dominance in that final round.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Shiro!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabos swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shiro uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gabos.
Gabos leaves Shiro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Good work by Gabos as he checks the leg kick.

Shiro shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Shiro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gabos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gabos tries to get out of the position.
Shiro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gabos controlling Shiro's posture.
Shiro trying to control the position from guard on top but Gabos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shiro wants to pass the guard but Gabos is keeping the position.
Gabos wants to sweep here but Shiro controlling him for the moment.

Shiro drops back looking for a leg! Gabos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gabos manages to kick Shiro off! Shiro jumps back into Gabos's guard.
Shiro wants to control from the top but Gabos keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gabos throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shiro stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gabos lands a nice shot to the body.
Shiro looks gassed!
Gabos connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Gabos lands a left and a right that send Shiro crashing to the mat, dazed. Gabos thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Shiro is rocked!

It looks like Jin Shiro has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gabos shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Shiro takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Gabos sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Shiro bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Giorgio Gabos!
