The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bremner misses with a head kick.
Bremner goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Bremner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shearer .

Bremner dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Shearer . That did some damage!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bremner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Bremner tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shearer defends well and Bremner ends up having to push Shearer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Shearer definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bremner is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shearer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shearer has escaped and now he's on top!

Shearer wants to get up but he can't break Bremner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bremner is on top in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shearer uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bremner has time to react.

Bremner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shearer to the ground. Bremner is now in Shearer 's guard.
Bremner controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bremner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Bremner has gone for a leg lock! Shearer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bremner's guard.

Shearer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bremner pulls Shearer in close to prevent any damage.
Shearer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bremner is proving hard to escape from.
Shearer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bremner on the ground.
Bremner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shearer manages to get himself to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bremner is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Bremner is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Shearer is looking to stand up but Bremner isn't so interested in that idea.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bremner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bremner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Shearer dodges the ground and pound from Bremner.

Bremner has an Americana. Shearer didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bremner is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bremner hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
