The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Milpid shoots in but Ming avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ming throws a quick counter head kick but Milpid was just out of range.
Milpid shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ming pinned against the ropes. Ming gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Milpid goes for a double leg but Ming avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Ming continues to drive forward.
Cho Ming has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Milpid.
Milpid fails with the takedown.
Milpid walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Ming has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ming is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Milpid pulls him back up using the underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ming goes for a takedown attempt but Milpid pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Ming shoots in looking for a takedown but Milpid manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ming's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ming keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ming throws a big counter combination but Milpid scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Milpid looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ming is fending him off so far but Milpid persists. Nope, Ming circles away and we're back to standing.
Milpid misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ming is looking to slow Milpid down with leg kicks.
Milpid shoots in for a takedown but Ming shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ming changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Milpid looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Milpid is looking for a sweep.
Ming looks up at the clock and then as Milpid takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ming smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Ming tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Usyk darts in and clinches Webster up against the ropes.
Usyk is pressed up against the ropes. Webster has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Usyk down to the mat. Usyk avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Usyk lands with a straight right. Webster didn't see that one coming.

It looks like Benjamin Webster has been cut.
Webster misses with a takedown attempt - Usyk sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Usyk feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Webster sprawling to the canvas! Webster rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Usyk finish him?!
Usyk has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Webster is landing a low percentage of strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Usyk has closed the distance and engaged Webster in a clinch.

Usyk drops Webster with a big knee straight up the middle! Webster is covering up against the ropes but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Usyk fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Webster, pushing him back against the ropes.
Clinched against the ropes, Usyk lands a big elbow that drops Webster! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Webster is complaining that he's OK but he was done.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Jeleniuk screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Wickholm connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mesrine momentarily.

It looks like Jacques Mesrine has been cut.
The crowd cheers as Wickholm lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mesrine doesn't seem phased though.
Mesrine dives in and grabs Wickholm's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wickholm pushes down on Mesrine's head and hops out.

Mesrine fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wickholm sprawls well initially but Mesrine persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wickholm wants to get back to full guard but Mesrine has mounted him!
Wickholm tries to hold on but Mesrine pushes him away.

Optimus Rimes decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
