The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Robinson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Robinson fails with the takedown
and Smith counters with a two punch combo.

Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Robinson to the mat! Robinson manages to get full guard.
Smith with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Robinson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Robinson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.

Smith stands up over Robinson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Robinson is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him?
Robinson is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
Smith postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Robinson covers up, he's hurt! Smith keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Smith and the ref steps in to end the fight! Smith can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Damon Smith made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I end careers and cash checks. Pretty much just do what I want to do to these boys when they enter the cage with me so don't do it dog its just not worth it.'.

Freitas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Freitas wants it to stay on the feet.

Freitas wants to get up but he can't break Venckus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Freitas seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Gunno shoots for a takedown but Freitas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Caye Gunno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunno closes this distance looking for a takedown but Freitas circles away.

Gunno tries to sprawl but Freitas drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Freitas is nestled in close to Gunno, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gunno has hold of Freitas's hands but Freitas slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Freitas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gunno with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Freitas lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Gunno quite badly. Gunno pulls Freitas in close trying to recover. Freitas postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Gunno on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Gunno doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

After winning the bout, Jaime Freitas thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Paul has an Americana. Rachid didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Paul is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Paul hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
