The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Flowers is defended easily by Rodri.
Rodri feinted with a counter takedown.

Flowers looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rodri trying to hold on to Flowers's head to control him but Flowers postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodri wants to get back to full guard.

Rodri knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Flowers on the ground.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Flowers has eaten all the pies!

Flowers drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Rodri has his foot on Flowers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Flowers works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodri wants to sweep but Flowers has passed to side control!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rodri looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Flowers shoots in looking for a takedown. Rodri tries to sprawl out of it but Flowers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rodri manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flowers tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rodri manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Flowers decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rodri scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Flowers manages to mount him!

Rodri is squirming around, avoiding Flowers's attempts to control the action.
Flowers is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Rodri won't enjoy being in this position. Flowers looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Rodri is tapping - it's over boys! Flowers picks up the submission victory!

Reacher had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Demaestri defends it easily.

You can see the frustration on Reacher's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Reacher felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Demaestri scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Reacher is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Demaestri can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

A less than humble Julian Eduardo Demaestri misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
In defeat, Jack Reacher stepped up to the mic, saying 'Ill come back stronger..god bless'.

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Fitzgerald Shitehouse was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee asks Sanders politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Sanders prefers to stall for the moment though.
