And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Ferreira!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hama shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Hama is just content to waste time from the top position. Ferreira takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Hama is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ferreira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hama swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ferreira is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sexyama Hama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ferreira connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hama.

Hama shoots in and bounces Ferreira off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hama makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Ferreira is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hama manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hama is breathing heavily.
Hama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ferreira is pushing down on Hama's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hama is fighting to maintain full guard but Ferreira has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hama is looking to control Ferreira's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hama avoid being mounted?
Hama is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ferreira is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ferreira wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hama keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hama tries to clinch up.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ferreira, right into the meat.

Hama scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Ferreira controls the position for a moment.
Hama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ferreira keeps working.
Hama cracks Ferreira with a big right hand but Ferreira just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hama in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Hama wants to control but Ferreira is keeping him busy.
Ferreira is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hama off and has taken his back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ferreira is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Hama. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Hama manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ferreira's guard. Nice work there by Hama.
Ferreira wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sexyama Hama will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ferreira lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Hama is rocked!
Hama takes one to the side of the head.
Oh Hama is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ferreira pushes Hama away with a front kick.
Ferreira moves in close and cracks Hama with a massive right hand! Hama, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the cavas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Ferreira!
