The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tseng ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brett moves away.
It seemed like Brett was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A lazy left from Tseng finds it's target.

Tseng closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Brett manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Tseng missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Tseng seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brett does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Brett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tseng is working away from the top position though.
Brett wants to improve his position but Tseng is controlling well.

Jon Hess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hess fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Da Silva.

Marshall misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Dearborn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Dearborn scores with a nice head shot.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Marshall has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Marshall missing with a left hand there. Dearborn was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dearborn will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Dearborn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Marshall's guard.

Wakizashi's coach down at Cell Block Six was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wakizashi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Sasiprapa lands a nice leg kick that just misses Connemara's sensitive parts.
Connemara thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sasiprapa flicks out a counter leg kick but Connemara steps away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sasiprapa. Connemara does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sasiprapa moves forwards but Connemara connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Connemara dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Connemara lands a big head kick that sends Sasiprapa tumbling to the mat! Connemara takes a step backwards and waves Sasiprapa back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Malaipet Sasiprapa has been cut.
Connemara has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gym Beam in the buildup to the fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A head kick by Connemara - that's a beauty! Sasiprapa is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Connemara can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Topi Takala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
