The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbott misses with a head kick.
Meyers fails with a takedown attempt.

and Meyers counters with a nice uppercut.
Abbott throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Meyers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The fighters circling - Abbott throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brenden Abbott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Abbott throws a hook but Meyers blocks it.

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ghengis Congo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Pykrete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Congo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ghostface - After the Smoke is Clear. Pykrete is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sympathy For The Devil. Nigel Pykrete will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Pykrete moves out of range as Congo throws a body kick.
Pykrete with the counter takedown but Congo avoids it easily.
Pykrete has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Congo is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Congo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pykrete has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Pykrete takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Congo moves to clinch but Pykrete breaks away

and Pykrete counters with a single leg into guard. Congo didn't expect that.
Pykrete wants to control from the top but Congo keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pykrete stands and throws Congo's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Pykrete cracks Congo with a big right hand but Congo just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Congo takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Congo avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Pykrete.
Pykrete throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Congo works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Pykrete not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Pykrete is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Pykrete throws some wild stikes that Congo manages to avoid easily.

Congo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pykrete lands a heavy elbow.
Pykrete pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pykrete postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Congo out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Pykrete goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Nigel Pykrete seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Ghengis Congo had this to say: 'too old, my friends, Bermuda is calling...'.
