Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Ferreira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Sane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leandro Ferreira had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Wu!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phuthong thows a leg kick but Wu checks it

and Wu counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Phuthong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wu is working away from the top position though.

Phuthong looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Wu trying to mount his opponent but Phuthong defends it.
Phuthong is pressing down on Wu's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Phuthong pulls Wu in close to his closed guard and prevents Wu from doing any damage or advancing position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phuthong swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Phuthong's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Phuthong has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Wu doesn't defend quickly enough and Phuthong has managed to lock this one up! Can Wu escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Phuthong on a fantastic submission victory.

Katasonov ducks under a wild hook from Ramazanov.
Ramazanov connects with a body shot that sends Katasonov's belly button to the back.
Ramazanov lunges at Katasonov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Katasonov's hand.

It looks like Sergey Katasonov has been cut.
Ramazanov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Katasonov throws a series of punches but Ramazanov avoids them all with ease.
Katasonov slaps away a takedown attempt from Ramazanov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Katasonov throws a head kick that half lands.
A big left from Ramazanov misses.
Ramazanov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ramazanov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Katasonov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ramazanov.
Katasonov wants to counter with a clinch but Ramazanov pushes him away.
Ramazanov throws a body shot but no joy.
Ramazanov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Ramazanov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ramazanov showed some decent athleticism there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ramazanov is looking for a kimura here.
