The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Beliveau closes the distance but Dragov moves to the side
and Dragov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Beliveau walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dragov checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
It looked like Dragov wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Dragov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dragov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Beliveau has momentary wrist control but Dragov slips an elbow through the middle.

Pu misses with a wild combination.
The fighters circle momentarily. Pu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Pu punishes Kowalchuck's body with a nice straight punch.
Kowalchuck motions for Pu to come forward. Kowalchuck throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Pu takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Pu staying out of range there.
Kowalchuck throws a nice looking combination but Pu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pu throws a big counter combination but Kowalchuck scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Pu throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kowalchuck feints the counter takedown.
Kowalchuck walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kowalchuck misses with a body shot.
Pu cracks a nice hook into Kowalchuck's ribs.
Kowalchuck takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pu lands a glancing blow to the side of Kowalchuck's head.

Kowalchuck darts in and clinches Pu up against the cage.
Pu manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Pu tries a body shot but Kowalchuck blocks it.
Kowalchuck jumps guard but Pu turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Pu swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kowalchuck goes for a takedown attempt but Pu pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kowalchuck lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Kowalchuck slips a straight right by Pu.
Kowalchuck moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Pu tries to clinch but Kowalchuck moves out of range.
Kowalchuck lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pu at a distance.

Our spies down at at Montreal Elite Gym inform us that Gago has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Rackham would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Gago is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rackham throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gago's body to avoid the submission. Gago has instead reached around Rackham's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gago arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
