The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rycerz gets caught napping as Smalls dives in and scores a takedown. Rycerz manages to retain guard.

Smalls seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rycerz shoots in looking for a takedown but Smalls manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rycerz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

It looks like Smalls might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Rycerz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smalls on the ground.

Rycerz is looking to clinch but Smalls is avoiding it.

Rycerz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Smalls throws the kick towards the body but Rycerz avoids it.
Smalls shoots in for a double leg but Rycerz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smalls leaves Rycerz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Smalls with the counter takedown but Rycerz avoids it easily.

Rycerz is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Smalls.

Watnabe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Holow is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Watnabe is controlling him well.
Holow wants to control but Watnabe postures up.
Holow takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Watnabe tries to move into full mount but can't pass Holow's legs.

Good exchange - Nobunaga coming out on top.
Nobunaga throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Geerts sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Geerts closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Nobunaga lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Geerts backwards.
