The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kartal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Filipescu was covering up waiting for the punch and Kartal finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Filipescu has momentary wrist control but Kartal slips an elbow through the middle.
Filipescu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We've been hearing good reports from Kartal's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Filipescu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kartal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Filipescu is tightening it up a little... Kartal has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kartal reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kartal taps out! Nice BJJ there by Filipescu!

EA Poe spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Markus Landfill was interviewed post fight and said 'Lesson learned,I will come back stronger next time'.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shinhan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shinhan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A very excited looking Stoyak Stoyachnikov rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
