Gideon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Akonia connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gideon scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Oliver Gideon has been cut.
Francisco Akonia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gideon walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Akonia tries to keep at a distance but Gideon has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gideon tries to throw a body punch but Akonia avoids it by throwing Gideon back against the cage.
