The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wayne tries to keep at a distance but Angelico has taken the fight into the clinch.

Angelico's coaches at Cozad MMA Rio have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Walker shoots in looking for a takedown but Gibson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Walker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Walker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gibson as he avoids it easily.
Walker moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gibson dodges the punch combination from Walker.
Gibson leaves Walker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Gibson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Brown slows the pace down in half guard.

Brown decides to stand up.
Brown throws the kick towards the body but Gates avoids it.

Brown takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gates throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Brown tries to land a front kick but Gates steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Gates walks into a jab.
Brown feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gatess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Brown looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gates!

Gates pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Brown shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brown was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brown lands with an uppercut that bounces Gates off the cage and back into range.
Brown scores with a hook to the body. Gates takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Brown bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gates's head backwards.
Gates has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Gates walks straight into a right hand from Brown - that's dropped him! Brown jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Gates from any more punishment! Gates complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
