The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mattos to the mat! Mattos manages to get full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mattos holds on and takes a little breather.
Mattos can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mattos is on top in guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chester Emerson.

Lealofi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Mata Mata Me. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
