These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scapular ducks down and throws a hook to the body but OvGod moves away.
OvGod throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
No luck with that takedown attempt from OvGod.
OvGod connects with an inside leg kick.
OvGod walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
OvGod takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
OvGod tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Scapular swivels and escapes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adam Johnsom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eliasson misses with an uppercut. Johnsom saw that one coming.

Eliasson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Johnsom momentarily.

Eliasson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Johnsom's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Eliasson dives in looking to finish as Johnsom flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Eliasson's strikes! Eliasson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Johnsom's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Johnsom was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
