The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ho's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Aristotelis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ho scrambles back to his feet.
Aristotelis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
It seemed like Ho was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Aristotelis closes the distance and clinches.
I was talking to Aristotelis's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Ho tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Ho makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Steel Penn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Chisholm wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Steel Penn manages to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chisholm's coaches at The Jungle Elite MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Steel Penn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chisholm does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
