Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lato misses with a looping right.
Lato throws a series of punches but Greenebaum moves out of range.
Lato rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Greenebaum moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Greenebaum misses the shot to the body.
Lato wants to counter the offense by Greenebaum and move into the clinch position.

Lato tries to sprawl but Greenebaum drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Lato kicks Greenebaum off and gets back to his feet.
Greenebaum throws a front kick aimed at Lato's knee but Lato avoids it well.
Greenebaum slips a jab and a cross from Lato.
Lorne Greenebaum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Greenebaum closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lato quickly recovers to half guard.

Lato felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lato wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Greenebaum.
Greenebaum postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lato looks a forlorn figure.

Greenebaum has hold of Lato's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lato manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mambo darts in and clinches Again up against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Again.
Again goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mambo prevents it.
Mambo lands a good knee to the midsection. Again won't want to take too many of those.
Again is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mambo is defending well.

Mambo manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Mambo tightens his grip and picks Again up, before dumping him to the ground. Again manages to land in guard.

Again looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mambo is fending him off so far but Again persists. Nope, Mambo circles away and we're back to standing.

Again dives in for a single leg takedown but Mambo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Again is trying to pull guard but Mambo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Mambo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Again is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Mambo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Again has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mambo has managed to get both his arms back between Again's legs - danger averted.

Mambo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Again swivels and escapes.

Again is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mambo scores with a couple of nice shots.
Again missing with punches from the bottom.
Again won't allow Mambo to pass to mount.

Again has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mambo is working away from the top position though.

Again has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Mambo is on him like a limpet, forcing Again back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Mambo gets control of Again's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mambo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Mambo looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Again is defending well. Mambo quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Again has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Mambo celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Las Mambo!
After the fight, Las Mambo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pasi Pulkannaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommi Talentti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pulkannaru comes to the cage accompanied by Judas Priest - Pain Killer. Talentti has chosen Metallica - Ecstasy Of Gold as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

He's out! He's out cold! Talentti gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Tommi Talentti seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
In defeat, Pasi Pulkannaru stepped up to the mic, saying 'Dang, the fattest dude won this time'.

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drakaath Yelgersmold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santeri Sikaniska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yelgersmold's entrance music is Sexy Bitches Playing Metal On Electric Violins. A fine choice. Sikaniska comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 2 Brothers on the 4th floor - Fairytales kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Yelgersmold cracks Sikaniska with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Sikaniska looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Yelgersmold finish him?

It looks like Santeri Sikaniska has been cut.
Sikaniska fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Yelgersmold scores with a shot to the body.
Yelgersmold lands a big right hook! Sikaniska looks hurt but is still standing! Yelgersmold lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Sikaniska falls down and Yelgersmold dives in with a huge hammer fist! Sikaniska's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Yelgersmold runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Drakaath Yelgersmold!
Drakaath Yelgersmold spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

Lang scores with a nice hook to the head.
Lang gets through Moody's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Lang swings wildly with an uppercut but Moody uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lang using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Moody has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Moody struggles to land a body shot inside as Lang controls his hands.

Moody throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lang sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Moody turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Moody's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lang under the eye.
