The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alpha goes for a double leg but Watson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Watson continues to drive forward.

Alpha is pressed up against the cage. Watson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alpha down to the mat. Alpha avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Alpha shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Karstark walks straight into a right hand from Battery - that's dropped him! Battery jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Karstark from any more punishment! Karstark complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uso showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pulu.
Uso ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pulu moves away.
Uso ducks under a wild hook from Pulu.
Uso bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Uso drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Pulu defends it well.
Pulu looks to land a left hand but Uso moved out of range nicely.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Uso has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Pulu misses with a left hand

and Uso counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Pulu!
Uso wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pulu keeps working.
Pulu is looking to reverse the position.
Uso working the head with strikes.
Uso wants to control but Pulu is keeping him busy.
Pulu tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Uso wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Uso gets to mount! Pulu was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Pulu is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Uso cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Uso content just to control the position here.

BOOM! Uso connects with a massive shot to the dome!

It looks like Maki Pulu has been cut.
Uso landing strikes from the mount and Pulu is in trouble!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
