The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ilich closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Watts did well to prevent Ilich getting side control.

Ilich walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Watts checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Ilich misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Watts tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Watts shoots for a takedown but Ilich saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Watts bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Watts throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Watts is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ilich will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Watts will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Watts enables Ilich to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Watts manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Watts is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Robin Watts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Watts gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ilich to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ilich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Watts swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ilich is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Watts is pulling down on Ilich's head. It's preventing any offense from Ilich, at least for the moment.
Ilich wants to control from the top but Watts keeps moving.

Ilich lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Ilich passes into half guard.
Watts is holding on to half guard well.
Watts regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ilich.
Watts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ilich is one step ahead there.
Ilich with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watts keeping moving, preventing Ilich from controlling successfully.
Ilich looking to sit in guard and control but Watts gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ilich is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Watts throws a quick counter kick to the body but Ilich avoids it.
Ilich has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ilich scores with a takedown into Watts's guard.
Ilich must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ilich is breathing heavily.
Ilich is in close to Watts's body, working some short punches and elbows.
