The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aleshi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Murphy circles away quickly and effectively.
A telegraphed right hand from Aleshi misses the target.

Murphy lands a left and a right that send Aleshi crashing to the mat, dazed. Murphy thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Din Aleshi has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Aleshi blocks a jab.
Murphy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Aleshi.

It looked like Murphy was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Murphy crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Aleshi - the referee stops the clock and Murphy gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Aleshi. Murphy manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Vera has chosen Pendulum - Tarantula as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Yan Gusmao has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Yan Gusmao seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Vukovic has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bozeman is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Vukovic changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bozeman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Vukovic throws an elbow but Bozeman slips to the side and avoids it well.
Bozeman tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Thompson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Major is defending well for now.
Thompson pushes off an throws an elbow but Major leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
I was talking to Major's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Thompson misses with an elbow strike.

Major breaks the clinch.
Major bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Thompson 's head backwards.
Thompson throws a head kick that misses.
Major Major is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thompson on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Major feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Thompson sprawling to the canvas! Thompson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Major finish him?!

Thompson is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thompson gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
