The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamasaki shoots for a double leg takedown but Brown sprawls well. He's pushed Hamasaki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jordan Hamasaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown throws a head kick that misses.
Hamasaki fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Brown looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hamasaki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Hamasaki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hamasaki wants to improve his position but Brown is controlling well.

Hamasaki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hamasaki off to one side.

Hamasaki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sjogras is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
