And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anton Newcombe!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newcombe throws the left hand but Pinn avoids the punch easily.
Pinn bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Newcombe's head.
Pinn moves out of range as Newcombe strikes.
Pinn lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Anton Newcombe has been cut.
Newcombe throws out a loose jab but Pinn uses good head movement to avoid it.
Newcombe's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Pinn connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Newcombe scrambles back to his feet.

Newcombe closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pinn is trying to stand.
Newcombe wants to pass to mount but Pinn is defending the position.
Pinn is not content to let Newcombe control the position.

Newcombe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pinn is just riding it out for now. Newcombe eventually gives up the hold.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Newcombe passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pinn!

Newcombe is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Pinn is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Pinn flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Newcombe anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Pinn and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Newcombe slips an arm under Pinn chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Newcombe has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Newcombe is squeezing on Pinn like an anaconda would it's prey. Pinn fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Anton Newcombe!
A very excited looking Anton Newcombe rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Gee just misses with a elbow thrown towards Pan's brow.

Gee using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pan has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Pan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Pan manages to pull guard.
Gee is pushing down on Pan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pan is fighting to maintain full guard but Gee has managed to sneak the leg through.
Pan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gee's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gee's back!
