The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and McHale counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Wang has eaten all the pies!
McHale throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
McHale lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Wang has hold of McHale's hands but McHale slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

It looks like Jason Wang has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McHale is keen to just control but Wang is a slippery customer.

Belt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boycheck with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Boykin's coach down at St Petersburg MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Boykin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
