Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Damian Kmiec!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva goes for a double leg but Kmiec avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kmiec continues to drive forward.
Kmiec is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Kmiec closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Silva quickly recovers to half guard.

Silva has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Kmiec is on him like a limpet, forcing Silva back against the cage.
Silva blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Silva is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kmiec to keep the fight standing.

Kmiec pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kmiec misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kmiec goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Silva tries to keep at a distance but Kmiec has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Silva throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kmiec counters with a three punch combo that has Silva backing up. Silva nods at Kmiec to acknowledge the strikes.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kmiec as he jumps to the side.
Kmiec shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
It looked like Silva was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Kmiec feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kmiec throws a strike but Silva rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Kmiec tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.

Kmiec clinches up with Silva and pushes him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kmiec can't find room to land a body shot as Silva controls the action.
Silva is trying to force a seperation but Kmiec has the dominant position.

Kmiec gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Silva.
Kmiec tries to pull guard but Silva forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Kmiec manages to break the clinch.

Silva pushes Kmiec up against the cage in a clinch.

Kmiec is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Silva can't fight it off and eventually Kmiec manages to take the fight to the floor. Silva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
