Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Moka Moka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Seery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seery has chosen An Irish Pub Song as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Patrick Seery!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moka uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Seery.
Moka appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Seery's coach down at Highland Brawl Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Seery's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
The fighters circle momentarily. Seery darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Seery looks to land a combination but Moka avoids it well.
Moka fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Moka shoots for a takedown but Seery saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Seery now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Moka looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Seery lands a nice looking body shot.
Moka pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Seery pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Moka half committed to a counter leg kick.
Seery jabs at Moka's body.
Moka throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Seery misses with a straight left.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Seery!

It looks like Moka Moka has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Seery throws a series of punches but Moka moves out of range.
Moka half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Seery misses the shot to the body.
Moka tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Seery defends well and Moka ends up having to push Seery into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Moka Moka. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Seery bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Moka pivots, looking for a leg kick but Seery is out of range and Moka settles back down.

and Seery counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nice uppercut lands for Seery. That snapped Moka's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Seery swings for the body but Moka moves out of range.

Seery rushes Moka and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Moka is pushing Seery up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Moka just leaning against Seery, taking a breather.
Seery throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mokas head.

Moka fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Moka slowing the pace effectively.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Moka Moka.
Moka scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
A jab from Seery misses.

Moka misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Seery.
Seery tries to counter by closing the distance.
Seery misses with a hook. Moka ducked under it nicely.

Seery softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Moka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Seery throws a hook but Moka avoids it easily.

Moka motions for Seery to come forward. Moka throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Seery connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Patrick Seery is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Moka misses with a takedown attempt
and Seery makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Seery throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Moka stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Moka moves out of range of the strikes.
Seery is pawing at Moka, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Moka's nose. Moka is badly hurt! Seery pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Moka tries desperately to hold on but Seery is relentless in his assault! As Moka receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Seery away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Patrick Seery!
A relieved looking Patrick Seery thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

Haapana tries to bum rush Chocula with a series of wild strikes but Chocula uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Chocula lands a nice shot that snaps Haapana's head back.
Chocula misses with a straight right.
Haapana throws a series of punches but Chocula moves out of range.
Haapana wants to clinch.

and Chocula counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Chocula throws out a loose jab but Haapana uses good head movement to avoid it.

Hannu Haapana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haapana throws a chopping leg kick but Chocula manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Chocula fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Haapana feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Chocula's calf.
Chocula scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Haapana takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Chocula lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Chocula is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

A bone on bone clash there as Chocula blocks the leg kick.
Haapana misses with a hook. Chocula ducked under it nicely.
Haapana bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Chocula backing away here, and Haapana unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

and Chocula counters with a straight right hand.
Haapana throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Chocula connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chocula misses with a straight right.
Chocula jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Haapana lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Chocula lands a nice hook to Haapana's body. Haapana takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Haapana walks into a jab.
Haapana takes a swing at Chocula's ribcage but misses.
A chopping leg kick lands by Haapana.
Chocula fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Haapana manages to avoid it.

and Haapana takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Haapana falls off balance throwing a combination

and Chocula counters with a crisp one two that drops Haapana! Chocula thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Haapana to his feet! Haapana is in big trouble!

Chocula is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Chocula is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Crack! Chocula connects with the perfect overhand right and Haapana falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Chocula!

After the fight, Count Chocula was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
