The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karate lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Karate scores with a head kick.
Karate has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Freire.
Karate throws a nice head kick!
Karate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Karate looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

A little feinted left hand from Freire on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Freire throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Freire crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Karate - the referee stops the clock and Freire gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Karate. Freire manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
