Katasonov lands a big uppercut and Kong crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kong looks OK. Katasonov waves Kong back to his feet!

Yip decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Rua is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Yakovlev screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Brady thuds a left hand into Guru's body.
Guru tries to bum rush Brady with a series of wild strikes but Brady uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Guru tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brady swivels and escapes.

Brady shoots in and bounces Guru off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Brady advances position into side control!
Guru is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Brady tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brady has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brady is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Guru knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Brady wants to control but Guru is keeping him busy.
Guru is trying to get back to half guard.
Guru is not content to let Brady control the position.
Guru wants to control but Brady postures up.
Brady wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guru keeps working.
Brady takes a little break here. Guru wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Brady is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Guru has escaped the position, nice work there.

Brady has an Americana. Guru didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Brady is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Brady hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Bruce Brady!
Bruce Brady was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Ground Guru was interviewed post fight and said 'thanks for coming out!'.

Seagram throws an overhand right that drops Kolehmainen like a sack of potatoes! Seagram dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

After winning the bout, Danny Seagram thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
