The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omurzakov with a jab.

Mendez ducks straight into an uppercut from Omurzakov and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Mendez manages to regain guard straight away.

Mendez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Omurzakov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Omurzakov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Omurzakov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Omurzakov is looking to work some ground and pound but Mendez has wrist control.
Omurzakov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mendez manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Omurzakov wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mendez has him pressed against the cage.

Mendez turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Omurzakov is pushing Mendez's head away, looking to escape. Mendez manages to hold on to the position though.

Mendez is working to tighten his grip on Omurzakov's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Omurzakov has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mendez is really squeezing tight and eventually Omurzakov passes out! Mendez breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ali.
Ali should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Drago stalks Ali and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ali's face. Ali staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Drago throws a powerful right kick. Ali tried to block low but the kick was high! Ali was taken right off of his feet! Drago jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
