The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Napoleon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shan somewhat.
A lazy left from Napoleon finds it's target.
Shan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Buster Napoleon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raziel Shan.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Napoleon. Shan shrugs it off though.

A decent looking cross lands there for Napoleon.

It looks like Raziel Shan has been cut.
Napoleon throws a leg kick which misses Shan's front leg but catches the back leg as Shan tries to avoid it.

Shan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Napoleon pinned against the cage. Napoleon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Napoleon lands a big head kick that sends Shan tumbling to the mat! Napoleon takes a step backwards and waves Shan back to his feet - he wants the finish!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shan crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Napoleon - the referee stops the clock and Shan gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Napoleon. Shan manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Aldo shoots in looking for a takedown. Mortaza tries to sprawl out of it but Aldo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mortaza manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Prime is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Burns had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Burns throws a looping overhand right but Prime ducks down to avoid it.

Burns throws a leg kick which misses Prime's front leg but catches the back leg as Prime tries to avoid it.

Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Lewis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Lewis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Janeiro, who protects the arm well.

Malone has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Wayne.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Malone has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Some bone on bone action there as Malone checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
