The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bengtsson as he jumps to the side.
Bengtsson swats away the attempt to clinch by Laranja.
Bengtsson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Laranja looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Bengtsson counters with a stiff right hand.
Laranja tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bengtsson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laranja somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laranja shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bengtsson as he avoids it easily.
Bengtsson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Renato Laranja seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bengtsson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Laranja throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bengtsson's waist but Bengtsson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Laranja off to one side.

and Bengtsson scores with a counter punch that sends Laranja to the canvas! Bengtsson smells blood - he's punishing Laranja with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Laranja has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
