The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vukovic connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sonnen scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Chael Sonnen has been cut.
Vukovic scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sonnen doesn't seem bothered though.
The fighters circling - Sonnen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Vukovic fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sonnen is out of range.

Milan Vukovic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Vukovic feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Sonnen sprawling to the canvas! Sonnen rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vukovic finish him?!

Sonnen is rocked!

That has opened up Chael Sonnen's cut even more.
Vukovic throws a low kick, looking for Sonnen's leg but Sonnen calmly moves out of range.
Sonnen is still on wobbly legs! Can Vukovic finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sonnen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Vukovic lands a right hook to the body.
Sonnen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Sonnen seems to have recovered his senses.
Vukovic throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Sonnen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Vukovic cracks Sonnen with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Sonnen tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Vukovic pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Sonnen is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Milan Vukovic!
A less than humble Milan Vukovic misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

Penn bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Penn wants to control but Punchy is keeping him busy.

Penn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Punchy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

A very excited looking Sambo Rambo rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
