The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gilden moves into the clinch successfully.
Gilden prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sherdog is trying to drag Gilden to the mat but Gilden just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gilden gets underhooks to prevent Sherdog's takedown attempt.

Sherdog drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gilden pulls his leg out and moves away.

McDanver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! McDanver is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McDanver manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into McDanver's guard.
McDanver tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McDanver manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.
