The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Fortunado has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Fortunado and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Fortunado sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Malkin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fortunado on his heels. He'll look to pass Fortunado's guard now, I'm sure.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vinetto fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Vinetto has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kakoullis is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Vinetto wants to slow Kakoullis down by chopping away at his legs.
Vinetto slips under a jab from Kakoullis.
Vinetto tries to score with a low kick but Kakoullis moves his leg out of the way.
Vinetto tries to move into range but Kakoullis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and Kakoullis counters with a body kick that stops Vinetto in his tracks momentarily.
Vinetto feints and then cracks Kakoullis's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kakoullis down.
Vinetto takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Vinetto fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kakoullis checks it well.
Vinetto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Vinetto misses with a low kick as Kakoullis jumps back.
Kakoullis was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Kakoullis throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Vinetto stumbling backwards into the cage! Vinetto bounces back off the cage towards Kakoullis, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Kakoullis lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Kakoullis celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sotiris Kakoullis!
Sotiris Kakoullis seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
