The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baeuout throws a sloppy head kick and Gonzales moves out of range easily.
Nice body kick from Baeuout.
Both fighters circling a little - Baeuout finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Gonzales seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Baeuout misses with a body kick.
Baeuout lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gonzales. Baeuout does a little dance to reset his feet.
Baeuout goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Andrei Gonzales has been cut.
Gonzales fails with a takedown attempt.
Gonzales shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Baeuout pinned against the cage. Baeuout gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Baeuout! Gonzales is out on his feet! Baeuout rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Gonzales is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Gonzales is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Vivian will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vivian has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ashkir is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Vivian leaves Ashkir with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ashkir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
No luck for Vivian with that takedown attempt.
Ashkir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cabaas Ashkir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vivian misses with a combination
and Ashkir counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Vivian is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Ashkir wants to clinch up but Vivian keeps it at a distance.
A little jabbing left from Vivian on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Vivian has Ashkir pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Vivian pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ashkir tumbling to the mat - Vivian dives into Ashkir's guard.

Vivian drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vivian jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Vivian seems to have locked his on tight now - Ashkir screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Vivian, as he picks up the win!

Meese pounces like a tiger and cracks Shamarov with a vicious hook! Shamarov is down but not out! Meese follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

and Perkman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Perkman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fonseca's waist but Fonseca gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perkman off to one side.
Fonseca really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fonseca cracks Perkman with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Fonseca has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Perkman to stand back up!

Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Fonseca throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Perkman is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

A fine choice. Jim Jones had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.7lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Waugh has gone for a leg lock! Ooe slips out almost immediately though and dives into Waugh's guard.


Waugh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ooe defends it easily.

Waugh is looking for a triangle but Ooe pushes his legs off easily.

Waugh looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Waugh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ooe is concentrating on defense, preventing Waugh from advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ooe is looking to get back to full guard here but Waugh has managed to pass to side control instead.

Ooe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Waugh on the ground.

Waugh is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ooe can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ooe digs a right hand into Waugh's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Waugh's gas tank.

Ooe bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Waugh's head backwards.
